I was distracted - I left home on time, made all the traffic lights and it looked like I was going to be to work early like I had planned and maybe even earlier. BUT, I was not focused. I ended up calling 3 people while driving to work this morning and as I was receiving a phone call back, it was then I realized I was passing my exit for work.
OK - just so you know, if I was in the States, this would not be a big deal, but I'm here in Korea and you just can't get off at the next exit and turn around. So, allow me to share with you How Great Our God Is.
1) I missed the next 2 exits I could have gotten off to attempt to turn back around and would have been closer to my destination.
2) The exit I did get off, I had ABSOLUTELY NO idea where I was. I pulled over with my hazard lights to search for the GPS I just knew was in the car somewhere. NO, it wasn't. I don't know what I was thinking, but I ended up turning back around to go back in the direction I came because again, I had ABSOLUTELY NO idea where I was at or going.
3) I found the road I was on again, going back in the direction I came from, a small miracle and victory for Brandy who has NO sense of direction, wishing my husband could be there at that moment so I called him to inquire where was the GPS I KNEW was in the car, but wasn't. He forgot he had loaned it out to someone, and his wife (ME) was supposed to know how to get to work anyway, so what was the problem?
4) I missed my exit again, after realizing too late that it was the road/bridge. But I was actually just happy that I no longer felt lost kind of knew where I should be going.
5) I got off the next exit I thought I could turn around as well as I didn't want to go too far down the road and ended up going in a completely different direction than I anticipated. Worry took hold of me again and a little fear. I had a half tank of gas and was wondering if I would drive it out trying to get to work when I should have already been there by now.
6) It's 7:10am, I'm supposed to be at work at least by 7:30am and I'm back at I don't know where I am again. God is good, I see the name of the road I should go towards, I follow.
7) I finally am led back to the EXACT road that I should have been on all along. And I made it to work ON TIME at 7:30am exactly.
OK, this may not be all that interesting or exciting for you, but I will try to explain my extra exhilaration. I have come to accept I have no sense of direction. I've run out of gas before as well as I have been lost before while praying not to run out of gas in the middle of no where. Korea is not like the States - I might explain this more later, but know you just can't pull up anywhere for gas, especially when in traffic. Anyway, I digress, I was lost, didn't know where I was or where to go and still made it to work ON TIME, without GPS or having to call someone to come and try to get me.
REVELATION and KEY TAKE-A-WAY: Even when we lose our focus (God) and become distracted and get off course, God redeems the time, leads us back on the right path, guides us, and we still make it to our next or end destination ON TIME. Not our time, or anyone else time, but ON TIME. I did not lose anything by this detour this morning, but actually it was an adventure and I'm so glad God was with me for I don't know where I would have been if it had not been for HIM.

Who are you following?
Matthew 19:16-23
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
I know it's been a while and with the Lord's help I will post more in the coming days. When deciding to write this post, I had a hard time choosing the title. Why? Because I couldn't seem to find a catch phrase for the revelation I received from this passage. Nevertheless, here's my lesson for the day:
Anyone who knows me, I am pretty much a happy go lucky person. I love smiling and greeting people in such a manner. Every now and again I wonder why some don't respond to me with a smile or sometimes others seemed to be turned off by my personality altogether. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that not everyone is meant to go where I am going, not everyone is meant to be my prosperity connection.
(Sidenote - Propersity connection is someone or something that motivates you, inspires you, encourages you, and prospers you either mentally, financially, physically, or spiritually. When I say financially, I do not mean a sugar daddy. LOL! But you know those people you get around that no matter what you feel inspired to do better, you feel encouraged that everything will be alright, and you are even more focused on reaching the "goal"? That's your prosperity connection and honestly I'm not giving this phrase the definition it is due, I'm trying to write this and make it make sense in 5 minutes before I get into bed.) I will have to revisit this at a later time. Remind me!!!
Anyway, not everyone you meet or come in contact with including co-workers or church members are meant to be your best buds and we need to know when to hold'em and when to fold'em. Let us learn by the example Jesus set. There were some willing to go where He was going and leave everything for it, some weren't. Jesus healed many, but only had 12 close friends. Know who is willing, learn who and what to invest in. Jesus did! And know that nothing is wrong with us if people do not choose to want to invest in us, some chose not to invest in or follow or believe in Jesus, but He still died for us, He still was focused and did not let that deter Him from the big picture. Let us follow Him and Him only and always. Selah!
